If so, I am here to share with you a natural and sustainable way to create prints on paper using natural materials in eco friendly ways.
Over the last few years I developed my own framework and methodology for printing on paper...my eco printing on paper practice actually came about as an accident...a happy one!
If you are like most of my students before they start working with me, then you probably feel CURIOUS, A BIT CONFUSED or EVEN FRUSTRATED about natural botanical or non botanical prints on paper ... there seems to be so many different plants to choose from, words like mordants and blankets...
I used to be intimidated by printing on paper because for many years I specialized on printing and dyeing on fabrics and I felt that paper was fragile and not a nice fiber to work with...
but then I got curious ...
...and little by little I started experimenting on paper by applying the same principles I was using on my cotton and linen fabrics.
I quickly discovered that even though paper is a cellulose fiber, it behaved differently to cottons and linens... so I embarked on a discovery and experimental journey on paper and I started treating it as an independent creative practice.
Hi, I am Victoria Martinez Azaro, AKA, La Creative Mama, natural dyer, eco printer, creative sewer and fashion sustainability educator 🙂.
I love teaching and passing on knowledge that I have accumulated over the years through trial and error...
My Eco Printing on Paper practice has organically developed as a result of my eco printing on fabric practice... over the years I have developed my own personal way of working with paper in order to create bright natural botanical and non botanical natural prints during every season of the year.
It took some experimenting, but over time, I developed a fool proof method for printing on paper...
